Giving Thanks For The Lessons And Blessings Of 2014….

Hello there,

Well it feels like a breath of fresh air to be writing to you today from my new online home.

I’ve just spent the last couple of hours today celebrating and releasing 2014 as I prepare for a magical new year. Nothings beats that feeling of entering a fresh new year, its like opening the leaf to a brand new book.

In the past couple of years, I’ve always taken some time out to press pause and reflect on the year that’s just been. I take note of lessons, challenges, favourite moments and achievements. Each time I do this its been incredibly insightful. I see where I can delve a little deeper in the new year. It also gives me a wonderful opportunity to release, shed away and let go of all that’s no longer serving me from the past year.

Normally what I’ve done in the past is set a whole heap of resolutions and goals, but this year I felt intuitively guided to ditch the goals and resolutions and to instead pick some words – which would guide me through the year. I guess you could call these intentions. I’ll share a little more on this soon in the next blog post.

I was asked recently if 2014 was the title of a book, what would it be called?

“Coming home” I announced, coming home in every sense to my true essence. That’s exactly what this year has been all about for me.

Its been a year of transformation on every level for me – mentally, physically, energetically, emotionally and spiritually. Its been extremely painful at times. There were many the night of the dark soul, tears flooding from my eyes while curled up in a ball endlessly weeping. I wasn’t sure what was happening to me.

All I could do though was surrender completely and trust that deep healing was working its way through my entire being. There were also many moments of deep inner peace (like I’ve never felt before), oneness, love, joy and laughter.

So as we’re all getting ready to enter a new year, I wanted to share some rituals that I’ve been doing in the lead up to New Year’s Eve.

Find a space where you know you won’t be disturbed for a couple of hours. Your sacred space (if you have one set up in your home) would be ideal or one of your favourite spots in nature.

Gather some sacred objects – crystals, candle, incense, sage, oracle cards etc.

I started by burning some incense. I opened the space with two kundalini mantras (to connect me to the teacher within and a protection mantra).

++ I started with a letting go mantra meditation with the Ardas Bhaee mantra. This is a beautiful and very powerful mantra. It’s so mystical, so deep, and so beautiful. It takes me to a world of beauty and mysterious wonder.

Ardas Bahee, Amar Das Guru, Amar Das Guru, Ardas Bahee.  Ram Das Guru, Ram Das Guru, Ram Das Guru, Sachee Sahee“ means that the energy of grace and hope is granted and that the energy of miracles, healing and blessings is granted.

// After the mantra finished. I sat in silence and asked my higher self a few questions:

“What are you grateful for in 2014?”

“Where did you practice courage, strength and bravery in 2014?”

“What did you release and let go of in 2014?”

“What transformed for you in 2014?”

”What did you learn about yourself in 2014?”

“What did you embark upon and embrace in 2014?”

”What are 5 things that went really for you in 2014; what are you proud of, what did you achieve?” What did you learn about yourself from these achievements?

“How have you changed, how has your life changed in 2014?”

”What are 5 things that didn’t go so well for you in 2014; what were some of your greatest challenges, what did you resist?” What did you learn about yourself from this challenge? What can you take into the new year?

// Next grab your journal and start free style writing. I spent well over 2 hours pouring all on to paper. There were happy and sad tears. Once you feel you’re complete, grab some sage and cleanse the space as well as yourself (from head to feet).

I finished with an epsom salt bath and a chakra crystal meditation while lying in the bath. I placed a crystal on each chakra and lay in the bath for 30mins or so.

I’ll be back again soon sharing with you on how I’m entering the new year.

Tell me, what are you ready to release and let go of from 2014? What are some of the lessons that you’ve learned from the year that’s just been? Share with me in the comments below.

Love and Light
