From a very young age, I had a burning desire to make a difference in the world.
An illness gave me the wake-up call I needed.
It was clear as daylight that I needed to change my life and that is when my inner quest and journey began.
It is through this deep inner journey of peeling back the layers, healing my voice, reclaiming my power and owning my light that my life changed for the better.
Often as a young child, I had visions of being on stage one day.
Just very recently, that huge dream and vision of mine finally became a reality!
I’ve spoken before at corporate events, to a room of over 100 people.
But it was different back then, I was very much in my head and controlled by my masculine energy. I had so many notes prepared for those talks and I didn’t trust in the wisdom that was within me. And so, the experience was never really a soul-satisfying one.
Just last week, I was a featured speaker at Talks by The Daily Guru and I spoke on the topic of Life/Emotional Crisis. This is a topic that’s very dear to my own heart. I spoke for over 90 mins in the evening to a room of 40 women.
I can’t even tell you, how nervous I was in the lead up to this event.
I’m very fortunate to be working with an incredible mentor at the moment and she advised me to turn the nerves, worries, anxieties and fears into excitement.
So that’s exactly what I did. Any time I felt worry, fear, anxiety wash over me. I mentally said to myself ‘bring it on’, ‘I want to feel all these feelings’ and so I gave myself full permission to feel every single feeling that was rising to the surface and the result was pretty incredible!
By the time the talk came around, I was feeling so pumped, so grateful to have this opportunity to share my story with so many women and I was honestly incredibly excited!
On the night, I stepped into my power and sank down into my womb space and heart and spoke from there all night. It was a magical experience. As I gave myself full permission to be vulnerable, this gave the other women permission to be vulnerable and so there were many tears on the night. The feedback I’ve received from the event has been overwhelming.
Many hearts were awakened.
The freedom and liberation that comes when we give ourselves full permission to be ourselves. I allowed spirit to move through me on the evening as I shared my story with the women. Some things I shared in the evening, I’ve never shared with another soul.
Yes, sometimes our dreams take longer than we imagine!
But the key is to never give up. To keep showing up daily. To keep taking those small steps in the direction of your dreams daily.
Steps to making your dreams a reality:
- Close your eyes and take a few mins to drop down into your heart space. Take a couple of deep belly breaths.
- Mentally ask yourself ‘What do I desire to experience in my life?’ and ‘What do I desire to create in my life?’
- Just wait for the answer. If you hear your heart saying ‘happiness’, ‘joy’, ‘peace’ go deeper. What would that look like for you? What would you be saying yes to? What would you be saying no to? How would you be showing up differently?
- What’s one small thing you can do today/tomorrow to bring you closer to that dream and desire? Perhaps it could be making that call, sending that email, signing up to that course, working with a coach etc and then commit to that one thing.
What’s that one thing you can commit to today/tomorrow to take you closer in the direction of your dreams and desires? Share with me in the comments below.
